Art 2 Final
1. I would say that my most successful project is my Artist-like painting. My artist was salvador dali. I recreated his piece by making everything Wavy and trippy. i wanted it to be a realistic setting, but having it looked deformed and distorted. I used acrylic paint on a 11x14 canvas. it only took me about 3 class periods, i went back multiple times to create depth and realistic features in the bushes and mountains. i focused on deatail throughout every part on my piece. on the mountains, i used the sponge technique to show texture and curves . I chose the setting to be a lonely and quiet desert, with a road that has no cars becuase i wanted to show that it is a very quiet peaceful place. this is my favorite piece and i had a lot of fun making it too.
2. My 2 choices of work that shows progression i would say is my Gymnastics piece and my Wave piece. My gymnastics piece was a stippling picture of Team attraction gymnastics academy. I made it all a one point perspective. I included multiple events such as Vault, floor, beam and bars. all though This piece was very time consuming and required a lot of patience i had a lot of fun recreating the thing i love doing most in my own way. i added my own little twist to it to make it original and professional. My wave piece was created out of water color and prisma color. i used very many colors in the water and did a top coat of a very light blue to make it all bend. i used white where the wave was crashing to make it look realistic. i think that i did a lot better in the gymnastics piece than the wave, but it really did show me my strength and weaknesses and i really appreciate knowing where i stand and how to get better now.
3. My two favorite mini projects we did was the color wheel and the painting project where we recreated a small picture that we got. doing these helped me learn how to create many new shades of colors all from only the primary ones. In the color wheel project i did Turtles around in a circle , with eggs in the middle that were colored the primary colors. i drew all of the turtles with pen first, then went back and painted them all the colors on the color wheel. In my Recreation painting, i used acrylic paint to create different shades of pink, grey, and beige to create a flower. I had a lot of fun doing this and i think i was very sucsessful doing it too. With my background knowledge of how To mix colors to make completely different colors, i had a very easy time creating these 2 mini projects. overall This class has taught me a lot more than i ever known about art, i also didn't know that i could do half the things i did in this class such as the stippling and the clay sculptures.
